The Statement of Performance Expectations (SPE) section sets out our performance expectations, providing a baseline for our performance assessment, and communicates our accountability to the New Zealand public. It sets out our output classes, our prospective financial statements and how we will assess our performance during this interim period.

This document should be read alongside Te Pae Tata | interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022, jointly developed by Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora.

Te Pae Tata outlines the planned actions to improve equity and health outcomes for all New Zealanders. Together these documents will deliver on the interim Government Policy Statement on Health and establish the health service delivery system outlined in the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022.
