Covid winter campaign - April update

The Covid winter campaign recently commenced with direct communications sent to eligible people aged 65 and over, to encourage them to have an additional dose if it’s been 6 months since they had their last Covid vaccine.

During April, direct communications will continue to Māori and Pacific people aged 50-64 and newly eligible people aged 65 and over. For people who have recently received a Covid vaccine, we will contact them 6 months after their last vaccination date.

Direct communications form the start of a broader national advertising campaign running from late April to September, with a focus on Māori and Pacific people aged 50 and over, and everyone aged 65 and over.

A new Covid poster in both English and Te Reo Māori is now available on Dropbox – Covid poster.

Childhood immunisations in pharmacy: webinar recording

This week we held a webinar on Childhood Immunisations in pharmacy. Thank you to those who attended. The webinar provided an overview of the free training programme Extending Vaccinator Skills (Whole-of-Life) to support pharmacist vaccinators wishing to upskill to authorised vaccinators, as well information about onboarding.

If you weren’t able to join us at the webinar, the slide deck and the recording is available in Dropbox: Childhood immunisations in pharmacy.

The webinar follows a decision that was made last month to allow pharmacies to offer childhood immunisations as another option for whānau to access free vaccines in their communities.
