This data group represents the person's identity, demographic and contact details to enable them to engage with the health system and receive health services. Information is shared with the health system in secure and privacy-protecting ways to prove identity and eligibility, and to receive the right services.

Allergies and adverse reactions
This data group enables information about allergies and adverse reactions to be communicated as a health consumer safety measure. This information is essential in a range of care activities in both the hospital and community settings. These activities include enabling safe and effective use of medicines, for diagnostic procedures and interventions, as well as for nutrition and dietetics practices.

Summary of feedback
From August 2025 to October 2025, Health NZ sought public comment on the draft release of NZCDI:2025. Thank you to all who provided feedback on the NZCDI:2025 release. Your contribution to this mahi is greatly valued and appreciated.
The feedback received mostly centred around the pregnancy, measurements and vital signs and encounter data groups. The pregnancy data group has been thoroughly reviewed and adjusted to ensure alignment with the HISO 10050 Maternity Care Summary Standard and the Aotearoa BadgerNet Perinatal Spine system. Following community and reference group input, the measurements and vital signs data group has been expanded to include head and waist circumference elements.
Future data groups for consideration were also suggested by the community. These were centred around an alerts data group, clinical notes, provider or facility details, and social determinants of health information. We have added these to the log and will be reviewing these for future inclusion in NZCDI.
