Enrolled nurse professional development pathway

The enrolled nurse professional development pathway has been designed to:

  • promote the professional development and career progression of enrolled nurses within all services across Wellington, Hutt and Kapiti
  • align the progression with PDRP requirements, and identify pathways that will support consistent practice in all practice areas across the region
  • align the professional development of enrolled nurses with the new scope of practice and Nursing Council of New Zealand standards of competence
  • clarify expectations and access to professional development by providing a consistent pathway of professional development
  • support policy development within Wellington, Hutt and Kapiti to include enrolled nurses.

Unregulated healthcare workers include healthcare assistants (HCAs) and theatre support assistants (TSAs).

NZNO performance appraisal

A written performance appraisal is required every 3 years.
