Signing up for My Health Account Workforce

If you are aged 16 or over and are a member of Aotearoa New Zealand’s health workforce, you can sign up for your own My Health Account Workforce.

Before you sign up, you need your own email address. It must be unique to you and not one you share with someone else. It also must be a different email address from the one you created a My Health Account as a health consumer. If you do not have a unique work email address, we can support you using your consumer email to add a workforce profile under My Health Account Unified.

My Health Account - Unified

You can sign up for My Health Account Workforce and prove who you are online using:

  • your My Health Account (health consumer, or personal account)
  • RealMe® and RealMe Verified
  • one of several New Zealand and Australian identity documents
  • your details that are held by your GP or medical centre – we will not store any information related to your GP enrolment in your Workforce account.

When you try to access a connected digital health service, which requires you to use My Health Account Workforce, you will be prompted to sign up or you can type https://workforce.identity.health.nz (external link) into your browser, then follow the on-screen instructions.

You will be asked to read and agree to My Health Account Workforce’s Terms of use and Privacy statement.

Note: if you already used RealMe or RealMe Verified to sign up for your My Health Account, you will need to sign up for My Health Account Workforce using an email address and password.

My Health Account Unified (adding a workforce profile to My Health Account)

With My Health Account Unified, users are able manage both personal and professional healthcare roles within a single account.

If you have My Health Account and need My Health Account Workforce, you have two options:

  1. if you have a unique workplace email address (e.g. janet.jones@healthprovider.co.nz), set up a stand-alone My Health Account Workforce
  2. if you don’t have a unique workplace email address, you can add a ‘Workforce profile’ to your existing My Health Account personal account

If you don't have My Health Account but need My Health Account Workforce:

  1. set up a stand-alone My Health Account Workforce using a unique email address, ideally your workplace email address (e.g. janet.jones@healthprovider.co.nz)
  2. if you have a generic workplace email address (e.g. admin@healthprovider.co.nz), create a My Health Account using your personal or consumer email address and add a ‘Workforce profile’
