The Seismic DGN is one of several national design guidance notes that Health NZ are developing to support standardisation of design, faster and more efficient infrastructure delivery processes, improve the sustainability of the health system, and build construction sector confidence in hospital development processes.

This guideline sets the performance standard required by the Seismic Policy of Health NZ for delivery of health services which will also meet, as a minimum, New Zealand Building Code requirements for public hospital buildings, and the New Zealand Government’s commitment to Climate Change action
