Non-Emergency Ambulance Transport (NEAT) Fund

The NEAT Fund, established in April 2017, helps Aged Residential Care (ARC) providers cover non-emergency ambulance transport costs for residents. Here’s a summary of the key points:

  • Rural providers: Eligible for support if transport costs exceed $212 (excl. GST) or $243.80 (incl. GST) per one-way trip. Note: use the long trips claim form for this type of claim.
  • Urban providers: Eligible if residents require more than 12 round-trip non-emergency ambulance transfers for on-going specialist medical treatment in a quarter, minus the initial provider payment of $212 (excl. GST) or $243.80 (incl. GST). Note: use the set of short trips claim form for this type of claim.
