Summary

This clinical guideline gives detailed recommendations for screening and diagnosis of probable undiagnosed type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes in pregnancy to improve neonatal and maternal outcomes.

 

Recommendations on the treating and managing gestational diabetes are also outlined.

 

The clinical guideline was developed by Auckland Uniservices using an expert working group after an extensive literature review, and was funded by the Ministry of Health as part of the Maternity Quality Initiative.
