Whatu Tāniko pattern
  • What we do: nutrition and physical activity

    The Ministry provides advice to the Government on nutrition and physical activity for healthy New Zealanders.
  • Nutrient reference values (including recommended dietary intakes)

    Nutrient Reference Values (NRVs) refer to the levels of recommended intakes of essential nutrients, such as vitamins and minerals.
  • Baby-led weaning – Ministry position statement

    Currently, the Ministry of Health does not recommend baby-led weaning (BLW) as population health advice in New Zealand.
  • Infant feeding in emergencies for babies aged 0–12 months
