Quarter 3 data caveats
Improved immunisation for children
Improved immunisation for children
Data extraction occurred on 8 April 2025. This is consistent with the extraction date used for tier 1 statistics immunisation data, which occurs on the 8th of the month following the end of the quarter. While there is some backfill activity that occurs after the extract date, the impact on coverage rates is minimal.

Last quarter, Auckland district implemented TrakCare, a new patient administration system, which has impacted data completeness for the following health targets. It will take some time for data completeness to improve, so results published for Auckland may show slight variations in future reporting, due to subsequent data being more complete.
Shorter stays in emergency departments
Shorter stays in emergency departments
Four level-2 facilities (not publicly funded) are excluded from this measure.
Faster cancer treatment
Faster cancer treatment
District results are accurate as populated in clinical systems.
Shorter wait times for first specialist assessment

We do not collect ethnicity data for FSA wait times.
Shorter wait times for elective treatment
Shorter wait times for elective treatment
Data issues were identified in the National Booking Reporting System (NBRS) for the Auckland district due to the change in patient administration system noted above, significantly impacting overall results. As such, Auckland data for this measure has been sourced from the RAPID data set, generally used for operational purposes. Issues with data in the NBRS are expected to be resolved for Quarter 4, at which point we will revert to using data sourced from the NBRS. The Auckland result is a close representation of the true waitlist that would be reported using NBRS, but results may shift slightly when the data source changes next quarter.

Quarter 4 data caveats
Improved immunisation for children
Improved immunisation for children
Data extraction occurred on 8 July 2025. This is consistent with the extraction date used for tier 1 statistics immunisation data (from quarter 2 2024/25 onwards), where data is snapshotted on the 8th of the month following the end of the quarter. While there is some backfill activity that occurs after the extract date, the impact on coverage rates is minimal.

Northland district’s volumes for April 2025 are underreported but do not significantly impact their result. Four level-2 facilities (not publicly funded) are excluded from this measure.
Faster cancer treatment
Faster cancer treatment
District results are accurate as populated in clinical systems. Results of 0.0%, such as Pacific Peoples in Wairarapa, means no one in that population group met the 31-day timeframe from decision to treat, to treatment.
Shorter wait times for first specialist assessment
Shorter wait times for first specialist assessment
General medicine specialty was missing from West Coast results at the time of data extraction. Quarter four performance is expected to be around 70%. Corrections are expected in the quarter one 2025/26 report.
We do not collect ethnicity data for FSA wait times.
Shorter wait times for elective treatment
Shorter wait times for elective treatment
At the time of data extraction, Waikato had known system issues which may have affected their data in the National Booking Reporting System and hence their results for this measure. Updated results are expected in the quarter one 2025/26 report.
Data clean up and validation has seen an improvement to the Quarter 4 2023/24 result (baseline). Yearly milestones were set based on realistic improvement from baseline (set at that point in time). This improvement has resulted in an increase to the 2025/26 milestone from 67% to 70% from August 2025 to ensure a steady trajectory to meet the 95% target by 2030.
