Health NZ has released an independent report by EY on the accuracy of its first specialist assessment (FSA) reporting.

EY found no evidence of intentional misrepresentation of FSA health target reporting or waitlist management processes intended to improve or inflate performance.

The report makes six recommendations to help Health NZ improve its reporting. The recommendations are designed to remove manual processes and address variation in process.

Health NZ has accepted all recommendations and has begun implementing them within its overall work programme.

We are committed to building a better health system that’s nationally planned, regionally coordinated, and locally delivered. Our people are at the centre making hundreds of decisions that keep our services running smoothly every day, so more people get the right healthcare when they need it.

The cost for EY to undertake the review was $298,262.88 excluding GST.
