Health New Zealand welcomes the decision by Association of Professional & Executive Employees (APEX) members to ratify the Psychologists collective agreement.

Around 670 psychologists nationwide will benefit from a 2.5 per cent salary increase in year 1 and a 2 per cent increase in year 2 over a term of 24 months, beginning January 2026.

The agreement also includes more opportunities for professional development and recognition for senior staff with the creation of a new salary step.

We value the commitment of our psychologist workforce and recognise the importance of ensuring they have the support and resources to deliver quality and safe patient care.
